About Amir Ghauri
Amir Ghauri, a distinguished Pakistani Digital artist, sculptor, ceramist, and monument maker, draws inspiration from a rich family legacy deeply rooted in the world of art. His great grandfather, also a sculptor in Delhi, laid the foundation for a tradition of artistic excellence that Amir Ghauri proudly carries forward. This familial influence adds a unique dimension to Ghauri’s artistic journey.
Amir Ghauri has left an indelible mark on the landscape of Pakistan, contributing significantly to various cities. With an exceptional ability to design and craft colossal scale sculptures and monuments, he has lent his artistic touch to projects for prestigious entities such as Bahria Town, Canal City Housing Society, Khayaban-E-Amin, Al Ghani Garden, Al Rehman Garden, PHA Lahore, and PHA Faisalabad.
Notably, his collaboration extends to national institutions like the Pakistan Army, where he contributed to creating memorials for APS Peshawar and Rangers Headquarters, UNO Pindi Islamabad, and international organizations like UNICEF (WHO) in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
Amir Ghauri’s work is a captivating blend of ceramic artistry and sculpture, encompassing low reliefs, high reliefs, and intaglio. His inspiration from Petroglyphs and petroglyphs of the Upper Paleolithic period, characterized by red and yellow ochre colors, reveals a deep connection to Primitive art. For Ghauri, Primitive art signifies the essence of creativity before the complexities of language and communication emerged.
Amir Ghauri’s artistic journey began with a diploma from Alhamra Arts Council Lahore, followed by graduation from Naqsh Art Complex and the prestigious National College of Arts Lahore. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Throughout his career, Ghauri has garnered numerous accolades, including the Best Paper Dress Shield from the National College of Arts Lahore in 2010 and the Best Sculptor Award from HunerKada College of Visual & Performing Arts in 2016. His participation in the Madr-E-Millat Foundation’s National Heroes portrait-making competitions has resulted in multiple first prizes, showcasing his talent and skill.
Amir Ghauri proudly embraces his Muslim identity and finds significance in being born on the date of Michelangelo’s death anniversary, 18th February.
